The successful season Rangiora horseman Andrew Stuart is enjoying should get even better at Riccarton today.

The harness racing trainer and thoroughbred breeder-owner will be represented by strong winning chance Sacred Desire in race 6 today.

The Terri Rae-trained galloper brings ultra-consistent form and two placings over the New Zealand Cup carnival into the race.

Canterbury trainer-driver Mark Jones also shares in the ownership of the horse and he should get a chance to take in Sacred Desire’s race before jumping into the sulky behind Elianna in race 2 at Forbury Park tonight.

Stuart will also be represented by Suzierain in race 8 at Riccarton today.

The horse also brings good New Zealand Cup carnival form with a third placing on the middle day behind Nothing Trivial.

Even if both Sacred Desire and Suzierain are able to win, that experience would be hard to top the thrill Stuart got from his smart 3yr-old, Sumstreetsumwhere.

The horse, bred by Stuart and Cambridge trainer Ben Foote, was an impressive winner of the group 2 James and Annie Sarten Memorial at Te Rapa at just his third start.

The Highly Recommended gelding was in 2000 Guineas contention but the offer of a large six-figure sale price from Hong Kong was too good for his owners to turn down,  Stuart said.

Stuart lines up Paddington Central from his harness racing stable in race 6 at Addington tomorrow night and has new import Trendy’s Bad Girl racing at Akaroa on Sunday.

The trainer also lined up Sportscaster at Addington, last night.
