Trotting maestros the Williamson family had a day to remember at Cromwell on Saturday.

In a feat that will go down in the history books, father Phil Williamson and sons Nathan, Matthew and Brad all scored driving wins.

Phil produced the star turn by guiding talented 3yr-old Kenny’s Dream, from his own stable, to win race 6. The filly cruised to the easiest of victories.

"We are aiming at the [New Zealand] Oaks, so she will have a spell now," he said.

He will programme one start before the Oaks in autumn and  perhaps a trial "and see if she does come forward with a break and some weight back on".

"You’d like to think we have qualified for the race now. . .  The rest is over to her to keep improving and show she is up to it.

"She has certainly got the gait. She is probably one of the nicest-gaited horses I have had."

That gives Kenny’s Dream the attribute her dam, One Under Kenny, was missing from her racing arsenal.

"Her mother was a very good horse but she wasn’t very tractable, [although] she had huge ability."

Another from Williamson’s stable, first-starter Without Doubt, showed poise to win.

One of the trotter’s hind bandages came adrift and flapped in the stiff Cromwell breeze as  he strode to victory. That  might have been enough to send seasoned trotters into a break but Without Doubt showed composure beyond his years to win.

"One of  his bandages come undone but he was not going to let that stop him," successful driver Brad Williamson said.

The Williamsons base  themselves at Cromwell for the holiday circuit and the time away and new scenery for Without Doubt has helped him develop as a racehorse.

"He has grown up a lot in the last couple of months. The trip up here has made him, really. He was fractious getting him going as a learner but he has really improved."

With a little more time to strengthen up Without Doubt could develop into a serious squaregaiter, Williamson said.

"There is a motor there, but he is just going to need a bit more time to get to his best.

"He is a big, weak-looking horse but in time he will come to it."

The victory  was  the first of a winning treble for Brad Williamson. He  worked the Alister Black-trained Chilli Franco into the race from her  difficult barrier draw on the  outside of the second row  to produce a big, sustained finish to win.

Brad also combined with the Nathan Williamson-trained Idealistic Lass who scored a deserved win in race 8.

Nathan was in the sulky behind a low-flying Foo Fighter who scorched to victory in race 11 to give his stable a winning double.

Like Chilli Franco, the horse did not let a wide second-row barrier draw stop him from winning over the 1800m sprint trip.

Foo Fighter produced a scintillating sprint wide on the  track to down runner-up Might Empire by a nose at the line.

Matthew Williamson got in on the winning action early in the day when Jacks N Jazz finally  cleared maiden ranks in race 2.

The Williamson clan could also claim a seventh win on the Cromwell card.

Matthew’s partner, Charlotte Purvis,  drove Four Starzzz Shiraz to win  the feature event, the Cromwell Cup.
