Taieri went on the rampage to beat Green Island 70-7 in a one-sided game at Peter Johnstone Park.
Fullback Kori Rupene was on fire and scored four tries and centre Kieran Moffat scored two.
In the boil over of the day Kaikorai beat Dunedin 19-8 with midfield back Jayden Spence being the player of the day.
Pirates came with a late rush and needed a conversion from the sideline by fullback Tim Cossens to beat Harbour. But it missed and Harbour won 31-30.
A depleted University A beat Zingari-Richmond 21-20 in a boil over game.
