Waitaki has been in a state of emergency this week due to heavy rainfall and flooding, leaving the Waitaki District Council to close all grounds this weekend.
North Otago Rugby Football Union posted on social media they will move the semifinals back by one week.
That includes the Citizens Shield, the Presidents grade and junior playoffs.
They will resume with semifinals on July 18, while the final will now be played on July 25.
‘‘Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the recent flooding,’’ the union said on social media.
‘‘Stay safe. Look after one another.
‘‘We look forward to seeing everyone back on the field soon.’’
Several premier teams have also been out and about helping with the clean up efforts in recent days.
After the new cross-over rounds — replacing the former life-line playoff system — Valley, Excelsior, Athletic Marist and Old Boys have all advanced to the semifinals.
Maheno, who beat Athies 42-31 last week, missed the top four by one-point, while Kurow was out of the running.
Valley, who remain the benchmark and are unbeaten this season, will host Old Boys next week, while Blues and Athies will meet for the fourth time this season.
