Taieri win first round in style

Taieri won the first round of the club competition in style with a 50-20 win over Zingari-Richmond today.

Taieri had the game won by the 20 minute mark, up 26-6 and put the foot off the pedal in the second half.

Harbour beat Kaikorai 40-33 in a close game while Southern beat Alhambra-Union 33-27 in another close match.

Dunedin woke up in the second half to beat Green Island 29-18.

Taieri finished on top with 31 points the same as University but won the Speight's Jug as it won the game between the two teams
