The Highlanders lock was listed as unavailable for the side’s game against Samoa in Wellington, which is to be played with no crowd.
Parkinson left the field early in the second half of last Saturday’s Super Rugby Trans Tasman final against the Blues, having failed a head injury assessment after a knock.
Maori All Blacks coach Clayton McMillan said Parkinson was feeling fine now.
However, flight issues have prevented him going through the return protocols in time for the match.
That came as a result of the Highlanders players in the team dealing with several flight cancellations, forcing
them to spend an extra night in Christchurch on the way to Wellington.
Parkinson had been in good form for the Highlanders and was expected to play next week.
Two of Parkinson’s Highlanders teammates feature in the locking spots for tomorrow.
Manaaki Selby-Rickit is in the starting line-up, while Josh Dickson will make his debut off the bench.
Other Highlanders to feature in the team are hooker and captain Ash Dixon, openside flanker Billy Harmon and tighthead prop Josh Hohneck, while first five-eighth Josh Ioane is in the reserves.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 7.05pm.
