It was announced yesterday loose forward-lock Nick Crosswell had signed with the Chiefs for the next two seasons.
Crosswell impressed with the Highlanders this year, playing at lock and then filling in on the blindside flank.
His season was interrupted for six weeks after he damaged his knee in late March.
Crosswell (26) played for the Highlanders for the past two seasons, having come south to the franchise when coach Jamie Joseph signed up.
He has played nearly 100 games for Manawatu and played 23 times for the Highlanders.
Crosswell will be coached at the title-winning Chiefs by his former Manawatu coach, Dave Rennie.
Along with the signing of Crosswell, the Chiefs also announced midfield back Charlie Ngatai had signed with the franchise, also for two years.
Ngatai (22) moves from the Hurricanes, where he had limited game time this season.
• The tickets which went on sale yesterday for next month's test at Forsyth Barr Stadium have nearly all gone.
But some extra category A seats have been released, though they are expected to sell quickly.
The stadium put 450 temporary seats up for sale yesterday. About 300 of them sold within half an hour, and by late yesterday, only five seats remained. The seats are located at the western end of the ground and were sold as restricted-view seats.
A hundred category A seats have just come on to the market.
They were being held for others but have now gone on general release.
The sale of those tickets should confirm a sellout of 29,000 for the September 15 test between the All Blacks and Springboks.
It will be the first All Blacks test played at the stadium.
