Rugby: Southern trio back to play Harbour

The Balclutha boys have been called back into action for Otago's game against North Harbour at Albany on Saturday.

No 8 Paul Grant, fullback Tony Ensor and openside flanker Lee Allan - all out of South Otago High School - return to the starting XV.

Grant, who missed the loss to Southland on Saturday with a bruised leg, replaces TJ Ioane, who resumes his familiar impact role off the bench.

Grant regains the captaincy from hooker Liam Coltman.

The second change in the loose trio is at openside, where Lee Allan replaces Hugh Blake.

Most exciting for Otago fans is the return of electric runner Tony Ensor, whose pace and nose for a gap have been sorely missed.

Ensor suffered a shoulder dislocation in a late tackle in the successful Ranfurly Shield challenge in Hamilton on August 23 but has made it back ahead of schedule.

His sparkle will be welcomed by an Otago side which will aim to attack Harbour as it bids to keep alive its hopes of a home semifinal in the championship division of the ITM Cup.

Tasman beat Waikato 64-28 in Nelson last night. Tasman 64 (Liam Squire 2, Mitchell Scott, Robbie Malneek, Tom Marshall, Joe Wheeler, James Lowe, Tevita Kolomatangi tries; Marty Banks 6 con, 4 pen), Waikato 28 (Vance Elliott, Latu Talakai, Josh Tyrell, Toby Smith tries; Trent Renata 4 con). Halftime: 33-7
