Southland’s defence took another hammering in a 55-38 loss to Tasman in Invercargill last night.
It was the fourth game in a row the Stags have conceded over 50 points.
Tasman winger Kyren Taumoufolau scored a first-half hat-trick, as the Mako raced out to a 41-7 halftime lead.
Southland found some spark in the second half, winger Michael Manson notably running in three tries.
However, they left themselves too much to do and only pulled to within 20 points in the last minute. — Allied Media
