Dunedin swimmer Caitlin Deans has been selected for her first Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Dunedin Olympian will compete in the 4x200m women's freestyle relay alongside former Dunedin swimmer Erika Fairweather, Milana Tapper and Eve Thomas.

She has also been given the green light to line up in the women's 400m and 800m freestyle events.

Deans made her Olympic debut in Paris, where she was part of the 4x200m relay that finished eighth.

The Neptune swimmer is part of the 13-strong New Zealand team named today in Auckland, headlined by former world champions Fairweather and Lewis Clareburt.

Fairweather, who relocated to Auckland last year, will compete in the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle, alongside the women's relay and the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay.
