Otago's rising swimmers produced another impressive display at the national age group championships in Hawke’s Bay.
Among the highlights was Wanaka swimmer Hana Carnie, who broke three Otago records and dipped under three qualification standards for the Oceania championships next month.
She twice broke the female 14 years 200m backstroke record — previously held by Olympian Erika Fairweather — with 2min 20.25sec, broke the 14 years 100m backstroke record with 1min 04.75sec, and broke the 14 years 50m backstroke record with 30.72sec.
Carnie won silver in all three events and went under the Oceania required time.
Clubmate Sophia McClintock broke the female 14 years 50m butterfly record with 28.92sec and dipped under the Oceania qualifying in the 100m freestyle with 59.36sec. She won silver in both events.
Myla Duncan (Kiwi) was impressive in snatching triple gold and also breaking the Otago female 13 years 50m backstroke record with 30.51sec.
She also won the 100m and 200m backstroke.
Hugo Beeby (Neptune) won gold in the male 15 years 200m breaststroke and clubmate Lily McGrath won silver in the female 16 years 50m and 100m breaststroke.
Fellow Neptune swimmer Hannah Ker-Fox won silver in the female 13 years 400m IM and bronze in the 200m freestyle and 200m IM, while Annalise Miller won silver in the female 14 years 400m and 800m freestyle, and bronze in the 200m and 1500m freestyle.
South Otago Sharks swimmer Kithmi Kandegoda Gamage won silver in the male multi-class 200m freestyle and bronze in the 400m freestyle and 50m backstroke.
Sophie Wellington (Kiwi) won bronze in the female 14 years 200m IM.
