It’s time for some fancy footwork as the Impact Roofing and Plumbing Surf to Stadium fun run returns this Sunday.

Sport Otago events lead Isaac Smith said the event had been running for about 11years and was a run or walk for all sizes, ages and abilities.

Last year the event only "just scraped in" days before the country went into the Covid-19 Alert Level 4 lockdown.

This year, Mr Smith hoped about 1000 participants, including families, school groups and business teams, would take part.

The 10km course would start at 10am from Kettle Park near Forbury Park Raceway and finish at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

A shorter 4km option would start at 10.30am from Magnet St and run along the Ravensbourne/Maia pathway before turning back near Moller Park to finish at the stadium.

The event was a chance for some to have some fun, with costumed characters including Batman, Captain America and The Flash running in the race in previous years.

"We have had some cool options in the past and always love to see the different costumes people wear each year," he said.
