Work by Aurora Energy to upgrade the electricity network means temporary road closures later this month in Mosgiel and the Taieri Plain.
The closures affect Gordon Rd, in Mosgiel, on March 20, and the Outram-Mosgiel Rd (SH87) on March 21, resulting in delays from 8am to 6pm.
On March 20, a section of Gordon Rd (between Dukes Rd North and the Otago-Taieri A&P Showgrounds) will be closed to traffic travelling from Dukes Rd North. One-way access will be maintained from School Rd South.
On March 21, Outram-Mosgiel Rd (SH 87) will be closed between School Rd South and Dukes Rd North to traffic travelling from Outram. The highway will be operating one-way only for those travelling southbound from Mosgiel to Outram. A detour will be in place along Gordon Rd for those travelling from Outram to Mosgiel.
Aurora Energy is replacing two power poles, 14 cross-arms, and 1km of power lines during the week of March 18-22.
The project has been scheduled to ensure that all work is completed ahead of both Otago Anniversary and Easter weekends.
There will be an increase in the number of vehicles in the area and traffic management will be in place.
Aurora Energy asks people to factor in additional travel time as the roads will be one-way during both work days. They are also asked to obey traffic management signs and instructions.
The company wanted to thank people for their patience while the work was carried out.
