Network comes south

The Rural Business Network is coming to Otago.

A launch will be held at The Savoy on August 26, when Dr Jacqueline Rowarth, professor of agribusiness at the University of Waikato, will be guest speaker.

The Rural Business Network consists of hubs across the country that meet quarterly and cater to rural-based people, working on or off farm, looking to grow their professional networks.

The aim is to establish connections and meet and share ideas with professionals on the farm or in agribusiness, science and finance.

The network is already established in Waikato, Manawatu and Canterbury. Sarah Perriam, of Rural TV, who initiated the establishment of an Otago network, was expecting a good response.

It was not just for workers in agriculture or agribusiness, but for anyone who would benefit from attending, she said.
