Fonterra shareholders will have an opportunity to meet director candidates and ask questions during forthcoming directors' election candidate roadshow meetings.
The 10 candidates standing for the board are Grant Cochrane (East Taieri), David Macleod (Hawera), Trevor Hamilton (Rotorua), Jan Marten Kingma (Southland), Lachie Cameron (Hamilton), Ken Hames (Northland), Gray Baldwin (Putaruru), Maurice Hardie (Otautau) and incumbent directors Jim van der Poel (Ohaupo) and John Monaghan (Eketahuna).
All 10 took part in the voluntary candidate assessment panel process. The panel, comprising independent chairman John Loughlin, two members appointed by the Fonterra board, John Wilson and Bill Falconer, and two appointed by the Fonterra Shareholders' Council, Simon Couper and independent Elizabeth Hickey, interviewed them last month.
The results of the panel's assessment and profiles of the candidates will be sent to Fonterra shareholders with voting papers on October 20. Roadhouse meetings start on October 31.
