The 15 interns who have already been found guilty of academic misconduct falsified paperwork and did not complete documentation while in Eastern Europe.
Last weekend the University of Otago asked any other students with concerns about their conduct on placement to step forward - 60 students responded to this request.
New Zealand Registered Doctors' Association national secretary Dr Deborah Powell said late yesterday afternoon the students were "very stressed" not knowing what was going to happen to them.
Dr Powell said she did not know the details of the 60 new cases.
She had been expecting to hear earlier in the day what was happening and was disappointed by the delay.
Whatever happened, the NZRDA would have a role supporting the students concerned, she said.
"We are already in touch with the district health boards about their processes", she said.
"We are all waiting on the university."
A university spokeswoman said the university had been planning to advise the students by yesterday evening whether conduct during their placements had affected their ability to graduate, giving them the weekend to digest the information.
The university acknowledged the public as a stakeholder had an interest in what happened to the interns, and would be making a public statement on Monday, she said.

They have themselves to blame. The delay is what it is - if they were keen to work they would not have skived work experience.
Let's hope MOnday does not see a hit over the wrist with a wet bus ticket. These are professionals in training but they did not act that way--so more training is needed, U of Otago. Take heed.
20 odd thousand each from taxpayers towards their placements wasnt it?
I expect that to be paid back in full, then have to repeat the last year at their own cost.
But with this generation, no one has taught them that actions have consequences and will cry discrimination of some sorts and be let off with it. We all know how soft the uni is, academic arrogance at its finest
