Louise Wallace's new book of poems has a strong sense of sadness and confusion.

Wallace grew up in Gisborne, recently spent three years in Nelson and has returned to Wellington.

This is a little follow-up collection to Wallace's debut Since June (VUP, 2009).

Wallace populates her poems with lovers, family members, acquaintances and friends who make life worth living. She is often comfortable moving in a hushed, contemplative way.

''With her'':

Where's Harley? Where's Harley?
Mum,
he's been dead thirty years
No
No
No
she says
No
No
No
She cries
sobs
and sobs
Harley!
To see this
her daughter cries too
cries with her
oh Mum
the daughter says
crying

Wallace has an MA in creative writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters.

I love how Enough is funny and sad and really true, all at once.
