I'm more of a saltwater fisherman these days and as a result this book sat gathering dust for a while before I picked it up to read. Prettyafter that I was disappointed; disappointed I had finished it that is.

While not a ''how to'' book, I reckon I learned more about the how and why of catching trout on the fly than I have through many books written for this purpose.

As a professional guide of 30 years' experience, Graeme Marshall is under the gun every time he takes a client to the river and this book focuses on many of the more challenging days fishing which makes gripping and often humorous reading.

It is often a case of working with the moods of the client as much as the moods of the fish, the weather, the river flow, the fly choice, etc, etc.

This book would appeal to, and have something to teach, any fisherman, either fresh or saltwater.
