Win family book hamper 3

The ODT has six Summer Times family book hampers to give away courtesy of our regular books page publishers. Each 10-book hamper, worth hundreds of dollars, has a mix of books for all ages and across various genres, ensuring there should be something for most members of the family to read this summer. HAMPER 3
Today's hamper contains top New Zealand fiction with Max Gate - Damien Wilkins' story about English writer Thomas Hardy (Victoria University Press), historical thriller An Officer and a Spy by Robert Harris (Random House), and epic love story The Far Side of the Sun by Kate Furnivall (Hachette) and Joanna Trollope's take on Jane Austen's Sense & Sensibility (Harper Collins).

Non-fiction reads are the celebration of New Zealand artist Bill Culbert: Making Light Work by Ian Wedde (Auckland University Press), an insight into royalty with Kate: The Future Queen by Katie Nicholl (Weinstein Books and distributor Newsouth Books) and the First Crossings by modern-day New Zealand adventurers Kevin Biggar and Jamie Fitzgerald (Random House).

For teens, there is the steampunk time-travel adventure Julius and the Watchmaker, by Tim Hehir (Text Publishing), and young children's picture books The Weather Machine by Donovan Bixley (Hachette) and My Daddy Ate an Apple, with illustrations by Scott Tulloch, plus a CD by Craig Smith (Scholastic).
