The concert will be held on Saturday, February 11 at Gibbston Valley Station, and locals will have the first go at tickets.
This year's concert, featuring Dr Hook and Creedence Clearwater Revisited, attracted more than 15,000 people and would be a hard act to follow, Alpine Entertainment Limited director Amanda Calvert said,
"So we are very excited to be able to follow such a strong double-act with the renowned Doobie Brothers and Little River Band - legendary rock bands that we are sure will attract music enthusiasts from across the generations," she said in a media release.
The Doobie Brothers, from the US, enjoyed success in the 1970s with hits such as ‘Listen to the Music', ‘Long Train Runnin'', and ‘What a Fool Believes', while Australia's Little River Band are perhaps best known for songs like 'Cool Change', ‘The Other Guy', and ‘Take it Easy On Me'.
The concert will begin at 1pm, with gates opening at noon. Aa New Zealand band (yet to be announced) will also be on the bill.
The pre-release to the people of the Queenstown Lakes District will be available from Wednesday, September 7 at the I-Site in Queenstown and Wanaka and Gibbston Valley Winery, and ticket pricing will remain at $89 per person.
The general ticket sale will be available through Ticketek from Monday, September 12. Children under 11 are again admitted free when accompanied by a ticket-holder. For more details, visit: www.alpineentertainment.co.nz or www.ticketek.co.nz
