Console warriors: Gears of War 2 and Lego Indiana Jones

Big news for GOW fans

Microsoft has unveiled its full 2008 line-up at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco and confirmed Gears of War 2 will launch exclusively on the Xbox 360 in November.

The acclaimed Gears of War has sold 4.5 million copies since its release in 2006.

Dark humour on the Wii

Atari and Eidos have announced that Death Jr: Root of Evil, a spine-tingling, humorous platform shooter from developer Backbone Entertainment, will be released on the Nintendo Wii later this year.

The game features the Grim Reaper's teenage son, Death Jr, as he and friend Pandora accidently release an evil and powerful spirit called Furi.

Another hero in Lego

Lego Star Wars was a massive hit on the PlayStation 2, with a sequel that also appeared on PSP and the Xbox 360, and now Indiana Jones is getting the same treatment.

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures will release in New Zealand in June .
Mass Effect coming to PC

Electronic Arts has announced Mass Effect, a smash hit on the Xbox 360 late last year, will arrive as a PC version later this year.

The PC version comes with a an improved control scheme, hot-keys, an enhanced inventory system and a new decryption mini game.

TrackMania for DS

Following on from a successful PC release, TrackMania will release on the Nintendo DS hand-held console in late 2008.

It is a far-fetched racing game in the spirit of the old Stunts title which features insane jumps, loops and turbo pads, with an in-depth track editor to create new courses.

Red Alert 3 Announced

Electronic Arts has announced Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 is under development for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Developed by EA Los Angeles, Red Alert 3 breaks new ground in the RTS genre, featuring a fully co-operative campaign while bringing back the series' light-hearted style and classic, action-oriented game play.
