But I kind of digress.
Fea St in the Pine Hill-Dalmore area has hosted Feastock, a street party of sorts, for a few years now, and this year there are more bands than you can shake a noise abatement form at.
This year, Feastock 2010 is being hailed as "a true southern live-music festival" and is scheduled to run on Saturday, April 17, at 3 Fea St.
The line-up, which organisers say will be in no particular order, is as follows: Entropy Trio, Left Or Right, TFF, Thundercub, Mountaineater, Soulseller, Julian Temple Band, Made In China, Alizarin Lizard, and Knives At Noon.
The line-up features many Dunedin acts from a wide range of genres, including underground, alternative, experimental, independent, noise, jazz, roots, psychedelic, ambient, improv, and sonic sludge ... which is a new on one me, so I'm guessing that I'm getting older ...
The day will go ahead rain or shine so be prepared for anything and look forward to an amazing show set in the thick, earthy Pine Hill bush.
Feastock begins with an opening ceremony at 11am, and is due to finish at 9pm. Organisers ask that people don't bring glass, and say there's no parking available, but they do encourage people to bring food to barbecue.
• As for this weekend, tonight Chicks Hotel hosts a one-woman band in the form of UK-based New Zealander Lisa McKendrick, who plays under the name Listen Lisse.
Her live performance comprises her playing guitar and singing, while also using a drum machine, live percussion and a loop station to hold the whole thing together.
McKendrick migrated to Europe in 2004, and during her time in the north has released two albums: It's Not You in 2007, and Pow Bang last year.
The Listen Lisse sound is described as experimental punk folk.
