Kings of Leon to play three NZ shows

Popular Nashville rockers Kings of Leon will return to New Zealand to play three shows in March next year.

Kings of Leon, made up of three brothers and a cousin, played in Auckland and Wellington early this year but have new songs in their artillery following the recent release of album number four, Only by the Night.

The album has sold more than 15,000 copies in New Zealand.

Kings of Leon have quickly risen to become one of most highly regarded rock bands in the world.

This year they headlined Glastonbury Festival in England, filled New York City's fabled Radio City Music Hall and sold out London's 20,000 seat O2 Arena (formerly the Millennium Dome) in under an hour.

Kings of Leon play in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, along with shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Newcastle.

Tickets for the New Zealand shows go on sale November 24.
