The Rolling Stones have reportedly cancelled the first concert of their Australasian tour, raising doubts over their April 5 New Zealand show.

The news comes in the wake of the death of Mick Jagger's girlfriend, L'Wren Scott.

Perth radio station 96FM reported the cancellation of Wednesday's concert on its 8.30am Tuesday news bulletin. A statement was expected from Frontier Touring this afternoon.

Scott, a fashion designer whose clients included Madonna and Nicole Kidman, was found dead in her New York apartment on Monday morning (New York time).

The veteran British rock group landed in Australia yesterday for their 14 on Fire tour and were set to perform their first concert in Perth on Wednesday.

They were scheduled to perform at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland on April 5.

Jagger was said to be "completely shocked and devastated" by the news of his longtime girlfriend's death.
