The Irish band has confirmed it will give a one-off concert at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on November 25.
Fans will be able to see U2 from every angle with the band's new stage, a steel structure rising 50m from the floor with rotating bridges and giant video system.
U2 manager Paul McGuinness said it was important the band brought the whole 360 degrees production.
"U2 has always been at their best when surrounded by their audience, and this extraordinary production makes that happen in stadiums."
The band will then head to Australia, performing in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Perth.
Tickets, starting about $40, will go on sale on September 3.
