Spectacular setting to evolve your learning!

Telford is based in the heart of rural South Otago, within a thriving rural community, and has formed an integral part of New Zealand farming history since 1964.

It was introduced as a new campus of the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) late last year.

The Balclutha-based campus provides students with real-life, practical training undertaken with the supervision of experienced tutors and farm managers.

Next year, in addition to their range of courses, Telford will be offering the New Zealand Certificate in Animal Technology (Level 5) (Rural Animal Technician).

The full-time course is expected to run over 34 weeks, with successful graduates equipped with the essential skills to become Rural Animal Technicians able to assist veterinarians with large animals or mixed practice and in the field or work independently.

This programme provides a strong mix of theory and practical skills, using an integrated approach and module-based assessments.

Under the scheme, SIT will cover your tuition fees if you are a New Zealand citizen, resident or permanent resident living in New Zealand throughout your study. All you have to pay are the direct material costs associated with your course.
