Beds R Us Dunedin are currently celebrating with their big first birthday sale.
It's been a year since the new store opened at 505 Princes St, under the ownership of Ricky Proctor.
The sleep specialists have been busy since, helping Dunedinites get a great nights rest.
"If you have a good sleep then you feel like you are ready to get up and face the world,'' Ricky says. "We tend to focus on whether people are getting into the right bed for them. We ask the right questions - whether partner disturbance is an issue, whether you've got lower back pain or shoulder pain.''
Previously the manager of Beds R Us and a now closed furniture store on Crawford St, Ricky and his wife bought out the Christchurch owner when Beds R Us relocated to Princes St.
The initial focus was on beds exclusively, although the store is now offering an expanding range of furniture as well.
But the emphasis is still on quality beds, including the superb New Zealand made Sleepyhead range.
"We order direct from Sleepyhead,'' Ricky says. ``They're made in Christchurch so it only takes about two weeks turnaround.''
It's been a good year for the new owners since Beds R Us relocated. To celebrate the anniversary, they've got the Birthday Bash sale running until Monday. And on Monday they're giving away a double pass to Saturday's Robbie Williams show at Forsyth Barr Stadium - just like their Facebook page, BedsRUsDunedinNZ.
