Needle-felting artist Irene Smith, of Wanaka, is proving natural fibres can be used for more than just clothing.
Her felt hares and angels were among the items on show at the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Wanaka Creative Fibre Group yesterday.
The group weaves, spins, knits, felts and crochets a range of natural materials such as wool, silk, linen and cotton to produce mainly clothing, but also accessories and art works.
