London milliner Stephen Jones, who has designed hats for Dior, John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood, will show about 20 of his creations in the iD Dunedin Fashion Show in March.
He will also join the judging panel for the iD International Emerging Designer Awards.
"I am thrilled and delighted to be invited to iD Dunedin Fashion Week. Although I have visited New Zealand before, this will be my first trip down south," he said.
Susie Staley, the iD committee chairwoman, said it was an "absolute coup" to have Mr Jones involved in the annual show.
"He's one of the world's most beloved designers and he's never shown in New Zealand before.
"It's going to be a thrill to see his hats on the iD runway and we're incredibly excited to unveil the collaboration between New Zealand's great designers and Stephen Jones' beautiful creations," she said.
Fellow committee member and Dunedin milliner Margo Barton said Mr Jones was the epitome of millinery design.
"I have held him in high regard ever since he exploded on to the scene, especially his work with Boy George in the '80s," she said.
The iD fashion show will be held at the Dunedin Railway Station on March 15 and 16, as the main event in a week-long fashion showcase.
