Never looked back after treatment

Rochelle Stanton (33) underwent the procedure at Laservision last September and says she has never looked back.

"My eyesight wasn't too bad but wearing glasses was a pain, especially in the rain or having the kids pulling them off," Mrs Stanton says.

"I couldn't wear contact lenses because my eyes are a funny shape."

Before making the decision, she did a lot of internet research into what was involved and talked to people who had had it done.

"Once I made my mind up nothing would change it. The build-up was not too bad. It was only four weeks from when I made the decision to the operation," says Mrs Stanton.

"Waiting after having the anesthetic was the worst."

Since the surgery, her eyes have been good.

"It was uncomfortable the next day, and that was it. But there was no pain."

She used eye-drops for three to four months and occasionally still uses them.

"I also had the halo effect at night but it was gone after a month."

Mrs Stanton is not concerned about any long-term effects.

"I don't worry about that. I'm enjoying my life. After I got it done, I spoke to so many people who had had it done and heard lots of positive things.

"The biggest difference is going out in the rain, swimming, going to the gym and buying that first pair of sunglasses."
