A man who lay down behind a car after drinking at a wedding in the NSW Hunter region was accidentally run over when his brother went to look for him.
The 31-year-old, who is in hospital with head injuries, left a wedding reception at a restaurant in Booragul on Saturday night after being refused bar service, police have been told.
The man's brother and father went to look for him a short time later.
It's believed the brother was backing his car out of a car park when he ran over the 31-year-old, who was lying on the ground behind the car.
The Cardiff man was taken to John Hunter Hospital with head injuries, and remains in a stable condition.
Police said his brother received a negative result after being breath-tested, and they don't intend charging him.
