Queensland cops on rape charges

Two Queensland police officers are due to appear in court on rape charges.

The pair, who can't be named for legal reasons, will appear in Mackay Magistrates Court today.

It's alleged the officers, aged 28 and 29, raped a woman while on duty in Mackay in February.

They are each charged with five counts of rape and one count each of assault with intent to commit rape and deprivation of liberty.

The officers, who are on bail, were suspended from the force when the charges were laid, and at least one of them has since quit.
