Residents of Dunedin's Radius Fulton rest-home were ''chuffed'' after learning they would be visited by the All Blacks, thanks to a video they posted online.
The video was part of the ''All Blacks to the Nation'' competition in support of the All Blacks' Rugby World Cup bid and was one of just 10 chosen as a winning entry out of 86 videos posted from around the country.
The prize is a visit from the All Blacks.
The video is a mash-up of the famous World War 1 poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae titled In Champions Field.
It references players of old who fought in World War 1, and the haka, and aims to inspire the team.
Co-creator Lloyd Martin said they read the original poem on Anzac Day and it was a ''tremendous success'' so decided to do something similar for the All Blacks.
''We recited it on the day of the charge on to Chunuk Bair.
''It was fun,'' Mr Martin said.
Jim Simons said he hoped people, and especially the players, got some inspiration out of the video.
Radius Fulton activities administrator Beth Sizemore said making
the video was a source of great fun and excitement for the residents.
''We got a bit carried away and thought it might get on the big screen.''
Everyone, especially the ''broadcast team'', was really looking forward to the prize.
