A brazen burglar crawled between the ceiling space of two Dunedin stores, later removing cash from a safe.
Police say cash was taken from two stores in the Centre City Mall on Thursday night.
Sergeant Steve Aitken, of Dunedin, said entry was gained to Threads Needlecrafts and money was taken from a safe in the store's backroom.
Entry to the neighbouring Shanton clothing store was gained after accessing a shared ceiling space, with cash also taken, he said.
