The Southern Repiling Dunedin owner has offered to pay for 30 replacement piles, which he hoped would keep the club's finances and construction timetable on track.
``I thought it was pretty devastating for the club. A lot of those clubs survive off donations.
``I'm in the expertise of house foundations, so it hit home with me and I decided to help.''
Club president Phillip Lyall was delighted with the offer.
A new clubhouse is being built in Mornington, next to the Zingari Richmond Football Club, but construction was delayed when about 30 of the prefabricated building's wooden piles were taken on Wednesday night.
Mr Lyall said the piles cost about $400, part of the $40,000 the club had been fundraising for the past four and a-half years.
He expected construction would be completed in time for the club to host the 2017 Petanque New Zealand National Singles Championship on October 7 and 8.
