The Dunedin Heritage Light Rail Trust hopes for a good turnout at a public meeting tonight, called to progress the High St cable car project.
The meeting will be held at Chalmers Hall, at the back of the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church, King Edward St, from 7pm.
Trust spokesman Neville Jemmett said the meeting would seek to form a new High Street Cable Car Society, which would act as the operational arm progressing the project.
There would also be an update on the project and the chance to ask questions, he said.
The Otago Daily Times reported last month the Mr Jemmett and the new trust had picked up where its former chief advocate, the late Phil Cole, left off last year.
The trust aimed to progress the estimated $26 million to $30 million project in stages over the next 10 years, Mr Jemmett said.
