Police are looking for a silver Subaru Impreza hatchback with a suspected stolen licence plate after a hit-and-run incident which left an elderly woman shaken in Dunedin last night.
The car, carrying three or four youths, was driven from the scene after a collision with the woman's vehicle at the corner or Moray Pl and George St about 5pm, Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane said.
The licence plate of the vehicle being sought is DYJ681.
The woman was left shaken but uninjured after the incident.
She was the sole occupant of the car, also a silver Subaru Impreza, which was badly damaged.
Debris was scattered across the road.
A witness said she heard a loud bang and looked up to see the car drive off.
