A kākāpō at the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital gave staff a chuckle when she misjudged an indoor climbing mission.

The hospital today shared footage of Kākāpō T-Bear clambering up a tree branch that eventually can't hold her weight.

As the branch bends T-Bear drops ever so slowly to the ground.

After finding herself on her back, the parrot takes a good few seconds to recalibrate and get free from the tree.

'She's a wee bit embarrassed after her derpy shenanigans this morning," the hospital shared on social media.

"Bless her little mossy heart," one commenters wrote while another noted: "The padded floor tells me this happens a lot."
