The Dunedin District Court has started processing the first large group of those arrested in the Undie 500 disorder last weekend.

• Undie could be over for Dunedin

Twenty-four of 67 people arrested in and around Castle St from September 11 to September 13 were scheduled to make their first appearances this morning.

The charges they faced included disorderly behaviour, breaching the liquor ban and obstructing police.

However before lunch almost all had had their cases adjourned until October 1 without making an appearance.

Another group is expected to appear in the court tomorrow morning.

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
