A 4-year-old girl is in Dunedin Hospital with a broken pelvis and femur after she was hit by a car on Lynn St on Saturday afternoon.
Dunedin police said the girl ran on to the road and into the path of a vehicle about 4.15pm.
"The driver had no chance to avoid the crash," Senior Sergeant Brian Benn said, and no charges would be laid.
