Addison Newton, 3, is full of trepidation as her rabbit is checked out by Charlotte Wollstein at the Teddy Bear Hospital at the Hunter Centre in Dunedin on Saturday.

The Teddy Bear hospital was a way for children to interact with different healthcare professionals in an enjoyable way, an invitation to the event said.

It was there to help nervous and scared children feel less anxious when visiting the doctor.

Children brought their teddies in to see health professionals including doctors, dentists and physiotherapists.
