Community support for the Hughes family was "fantastic" at a quiz night to raise money to get daughter Grace to Austria for treatment.

Grace does not eat, and the family hopes to visit a specialist hospital in Austria which helps children with such problems.

"The support was fantastic. It was such a great night," Grace's mother, Pip Hughes, said.

The St Clair Community Kindergarten held a quiz night and silent auction at the St Clair Golf Club to raise funds for the family on Wednesday night.

It raised about $2000.

The event was sold out, with about 26 teams of four to six people taking part.

Kindergarten president Merrin Magee said it was more successful than expected, and the fundraising committee was thrilled with the support from businesses and the community.

Demand for tickets to the family's next fundraising event, Amazing Grace's Magic Show, at East Taieri Church this Saturday, had resulted in the show being moved to the church hall, so more could attend.
