Conservator leaving post

The Otago Museum is advertising internationally for a new conservator, and there are concerns staff may ''struggle to meet'' deadlines and commitments.

Otago Museum conservator Lisa Yates has resigned and will take up a contract at Museums Victoria.

''Given existing workloads and the timing of Lisa's departure, there are concerns that staff may struggle to meet existing deadlines and commitments, at least until a new appointment has been made and had time to settle in,'' museum director Ian Griffin said in a recent report.

It was hoped interviews for the position would be held later this month.
