Bodie Morris (5) fends off dry ice at the Otago Museum's ''Best Science Show in the History of the World'', this week.

Amadeo Ballestero, who trained at the University of Otago and is now the resident scientist at the museum, also demonstrated what happens when liquid nitrogen is combined with whipped cream, how that combination can freeze breath, and what happens when liquid nitrogen is mixed with boiling water.

The show runs every day during the school holidays, at 11.30am and 3pm in Discovery World.

Mr Ballestero said the shows had been packed and he intended to extend them, by transferring to the museum's Barclay Theatre in October, where he would have more room for experiments.
