Crash thought due to driver falling asleep

A motorist crashed into a bank in Brighton Rd southwest of Dunedin this morning.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said it appeared the driver, a 26-year-old man, fell asleep while he was driving home.

The crash occurred about 6am.

There were no injuries and the vehicle was towed.
