One person has been arrested after three armed raids were carried out in Dunedin on Tuesday.

Three connected pre-planned search warrants were executed on Monday at three properties in North East Valley and St Kilda.

A police spokeswoman said the warrants related to "an increased focus on targeting criminal activity".

One person was arrested yesterday on an outstanding warrant in relation to breaching conditions.

No further details were available about the arrest.

The first raid on Monday took place in Richmond St, Forbury, and was followed by a further two in North East Valley, in Felix St and Craigleith St. Sizeable police contingents were seen at two of the raids.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen earlier said the first raid was unconnected to a robbery attempt on Monday.
