Driver questioned after woman hit by car

Ambulance personnel and police officers tend to a 55-year-old woman who was hit by a car at the intersection of Moray Pl and lower Stuart St in Dunedin yesterday.

Police are questioning a driver after the incident, which occurred about 1.45pm. The intersection is controlled by traffic lights.

The pedestrian was rushed to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be moderate to serious injuries.

Dunedin police said they were yet to talk to the injured pedestrian.

Her condition was not known last night.
