Police seized a house and two motorcycles following a drug raid at a "drug-dealing den'' in Milton yesterday and another at a Brockville house in Dunedin on Thursday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Malcolm Inglis said police yesterday enforced a restraining order to seize the house of a 23-year-old Milton man after he was charged with 20 cannabis dealing offences.
During the raid yesterday, two young children in the "drug-dealing den'' were referred to Child, Youth and Family, he said.
The house could be seized because police alleged it was proceeds of crime.
The man would appear in the Dunedin District Court today.
As part of this arrest, Milton police were working with the Christchurch Asset Recovery Unit to seize the house.
In a separate arrest on Thursday, Dunedin police enforced a restraining order to seize two motorcycles, cannabis and cash from a Brockville house.
A 52-year-old Dunedin man was remanded in custody in the Dunedin District Court yesterday on 20 charges including selling and possessing cannabis for supply, selling Class B drugs, and offering to sell the Class A controlled drug LSD, Det Snr Sgt Inglis said.
The public had informed police of the drug-dealing activity.
"This week's arrests have stemmed from concerned members of the public calling on police to get rid of drug dealing in our communities, and police are determined to do so,'' he said.
The arrests were a warning to criminals of the penalties of drug crime going beyond court action.
"When police discover assets have been obtained through profiting from criminal activity, those assets will be seized.''
