Emergency services were called to the St Leonards Dr farm, after the man was discovered unconscious on the property at 3.35pm.
The man was believed to be a lawnmower contractor, and was in a Nissan 4WD surveying the farm at the time of the accident.
Acting Senior Sergeant Tania Baron said the man died in Dunedin Hospital.
The Department of Labour are investigating.
