The mood was festive as hundreds of people flocked to the street for the annual community market day.
The sound of tombola ticket sales men merged with the pipes of the Taieri combined pipe band and children with painted faces squealed as they spotted Santa making an early appearance in Mosgiel.
Ominous black clouds held off as market day goers browsed stalls selling everything from candles to licorice.
Market day organiser Kristy Compton said the talent of the Taieri was on display in the talent quest featuring competitors from 5 to 18, with senior tap dancer Kelland O’Neil claiming the title.
The market day was "very successful", she said.
"It was very well supported by the whole community."
